    The Interplay of Facilitating Conditions and Organizational Settings in the Acceptance of Teleconsultation Technology in Public Hospitals in Malaysia

    This research explores usersā€™ intention to use teleconsultation technology. The study also explores the influence of facilitating conditions on the acceptance of the technology in the health care environment in Malaysia. Further, the study compares the level of user acceptance in two organizational settings: (1) between emergency and non-emergency environment, and (2) between referring and referral hospital. This research presumes on the basis of exploratory and descriptive study engaging a survey of healthcare providers who practice in public hospitals in Malaysia. The study reports a high level of acceptance and acceptable extent of facilitating conditions of teleconsultation technology. Thus, some facilitating conditions demonstrate significant correlations with the acceptance of teleconsultation. Interestingly, the study exhibits valuable insights concerning the acceptance of teleconsultation technology in the respective settings being compared. Overall, the findings provide useful insights for both practitioners and future researchers of health information technology adoption studies in the relevant context

    Information security culture: A systematic literature review

    Information security culture becomes an enabler towards minimising the protection of security risk and incidents. This research will systematically identify and analyse published research exploring factors influencing information security culture. A systematic literature review is conducted throughout this process.40 papers were used in our synthesis of evidence with nine compatibility factors has been found to influence information security culture in organisation setting. One thousand two hundred and four studies were identified as 40 fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Of these, most (13%) were assessed being high quality, and three were rated very poor.Nine common factors were identified which are cultural differences, security awareness, security behaviour, top management commitment, trust, information sharing, security knowledge, security policy, and belief.The most common factors found was security behaviour that highly influences information security culture from analysis conducted.The result of this study also shows the gap that there is lack of studies conducted in healthcare informatics environments setting.     Preliminary Study of Malaysian Public Sector (MPS) Transformation Readiness through Enterprise Architecture (EA) Establishment

    Enterprise Architecture (EA) is a holistic approach that not only limited to Information Technology (IT) but also align with the business. EA is not just a tool to be used in a financially competitive world; it is a tool that can help to improve the efficiency of organisation and serves as an instrument for exposing the need for transformation. Consequently, interest in EA in the public sector is increasing in receiving attention. However, to success in EA practices in an organisation yet a concern. The primary aim of this research is to explore the readiness factors that influence the successful EA establishment in Malaysian Public Sector (MPS). Using qualitative approach, the exploration has been made through systematic review and semi-structured interview in with EA experts and practitioners. The data from purposeful and emergent sampling strategies have been analysed using Deductive Qualitative Analysis (DQA). The findings highlighted 17 readiness factors that can be categorised into four main s elements which are Enterprise Environment, Process, People and Technology. In the future, these readiness factors will be analysed on its suitability to be set of readiness assessment criteria towards successful EA establishment in MPS

    TTeleconsultation Technology and Its Benefits: In the Case of Public Hospitals in Malaysia

    The ultimate objectives of this study are to describe teleconsultation activities and explore the benefits of teleconsultation technology in the context of public health care environment in Malaysia. The materials of this study were based on an exploratory mixed method studies involving semi-structured interviews with key informants and questionnaires survey of health care providers to obtain information about existing teleconsultation activities as well as to uncover the benefits of teleconsultation technology. The notable benefits from teleconsultation implementation were further discussed. The findings confirmed that teleconsultation service has improved health care delivery in the underserved areas to consult with specialist. One of the important insights gained from this study was that the store-and-forward teleconsultation was found acceptably feasible and have provided great assistance in the emergency setting. Overall, the results of this study can be used to promote teleconsultation as an effective means in delivering better health services. In respect to theoretical development and future work, the categories that were generated from these studies may be used for the development of perceived benefits and usefulness measurement tools in exploring acceptance and adoption of teleconsultation technology

    Exploring Factors That Affect Teleconsultation Adoption: In The Case Of Malaysia

    This study identifies the factors that could affect the adoption of teleconsultation technology in public hospitals in Malaysia from the qualitative standpoint. Based on theory-driven and prior-research approach, a conceptual framework was developed and used to facilitate the data collection and analysis processes. The underlying framework derived from a consideration of integrated model of established technology acceptance and diffusion theories and also findings of published telemedicine studies. Semi-structured interviews involving twenty eight key informants coupled with reviews of relevant documents were conducted within eleven participating hospitals to examine the key issues addressed in the framework which subsequently entailed thematic analysis. A summary of six themes and sub-themes drawn upon a priori issues appeared from the patterning of the responses were found to be of great importance in describing teleconsultation adoption phenomenon in Malaysia. Most respondents perceived teleconsultation as beneficial and useful for delivering health services. However the central issues appeared to be more focused on the actual need for the technology, perceived trust in technology and subsistence of facilitating conditions in explaining the way teleconsultation is utilized, suggesting more rigorous research should be conducted to uncover and acknowledge the actionable factors that potentially influence teleconsultation and health information technology adoption

    Teleconsultation knowledge sharing in healthcare: resource influences

    The purpose of this paper is to examine the resource influences on the knowledge sharing in teleconsultation. The study was conducted by interviewing 28 participants from 11 hospitals in the Ministry of Health, Malaysia. Top-down microanalysis of interview data was performed using a descriptive knowledge sharing framework that focuses on resource influences. The results indicate that resources can influence knowledge sharing opportunities in teleconsultation in areas such as professional development and learning, greater training opportunities, having champions within the hospitals, IT support and the facilitation from administration

    Development and Validation of Enterprise Architecture (EA) Readiness Assessment Model

    Enterprise architecture (EA) proves to be a holistic strategy in aligning business and information technology. An increasing number of organizations, especially in the public sector, have adopted EA in order to take advantage of the opportunities that it offers. Through EA, the efficiency of the organization is improved, with the optimization of resources and the elimination of duplication and redundancy. However, the successful establishment of EA relies on the organizationā€™s readiness and ability to adopt EA practices because without proper readiness, the practices will probably fail. EA readiness refers to the assessment of how ready an organization is to adopt and to establish EA practices. EA readiness helps the organization to measure their stage of readiness, to identify any gaps, and then to redesign its strategy in order to adopt EA practices. EA is a merger between business and IT. Thus, the important elements of EA readiness should comprise of people, process, technology, and catalyst enabler. There is a lack of readiness for an assessment model that shapes these four elements towards EA; hence, a clear gap has been identified. Therefore, the objective of this study is to validate the EA Readiness Assessment Model (EARAM) by performing the Delphi technique. The study adopts a three-round Delphi Technique to verify the identified elements and factors and this is followed by developing and validating the proposed model. Results from the Delphi analysis have validated four (4) major elements of EARAM, namely people, process, technology, and catalyst enabler. The number of factors that contributes towards the readiness of the EA establishment is fourteen (14).Ā  Ā It is anticipated that this model (EARAM) can help the Malaysian Public Sector (MPS) organization to identify and understand the elements and factors that must be considered when assessing the readiness to practice EA

    Measuring satisfaction on augmented reality courseware for hearing-impaired students: adjustment formula form system usability scale

    Satisfaction is an important usability attribute in developing a courseware which involves end users. Measuring satisfaction among hearing-impaired students is different than measuring it among common students because they learn using sign language and have different learning styles. An educational courseware for hearing-impaired students is employed to measure this. The courseware uses the Augmented Reality technology and it is called PekAR-Mikroorganisma. Hence, this article focuses on the methodology of measuring and the attributes that contribute to usersā€™ satisfaction. An adaptation of the System Usability Scale was used to identify the satisfaction value. Fifteen hearing-impaired students were employed as a case study. Findings show that the average satisfaction value of SUS in using PekAR Mikroorganisma is 87.8 per cent, and it consider as high or B grade. It is hoped PekAR-Mikroorganisma can help the hearing-impaired to understand lessons better through the enhancement of their comprehension on abstract concepts. The teaching and learning using AR able to assure equity in education for the students in understanding certain topics. The study suggested the used of AR for hearing-impaired students for various level up to the higher education

    Comparison of hash function algorithms against attacks: a review

    Hash functions are considered key components of nearly all cryptographic protocols, as well as of many security applications such as message authentication codes, data integrity, password storage, and random number generation. Many hash function algorithms have been proposed in order to ensure authentication and integrity of the data, including MD5, SHA-1, SHA-2, SHA-3 and RIPEMD. This paper involves an overview of these standard algorithms, and also provides a focus on their limitations against common attacks. These study shows that these standard hash function algorithms suffer collision attacks and time inefficiency. Other types of hash functions are also highlighted in comparison with the standard hash function algorithm in performing the resistance against common attacks. It shows that these algorithms are still weak to resist against collision attacks

    Breast cancer classification using deep learning approaches and histopathology image: a comparison study

    Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models are a type of deep learning architecture introduced to achieve the correct classification of breast cancer. This paper has a two-fold purpose. The first aim is to investigate the various deep learning models in classifying breast cancer histopathology images. This study identified the most accurate models in terms of the binary, four, and eight classifications of breast cancer histopathology image databases. The different accuracy scores obtained for the deep learning models on the same database showed that other factors such as pre-processing, data augmentation, and transfer learning methods can impact the ability of the models to achieve higher accuracy. The second purpose of our manuscript is to investigate the latest models that have no or limited examination done in previous studies. The models like ResNeXt, Dual Path Net, SENet, and NASNet had been identified with the most cutting-edge results for the ImageNet database. These models were examined for the binary, and eight classifications on BreakHis, a breast cancer histopathology image database. Furthermore, the BACH database was used to investigate these models for four classifications. Then, these models were compared with the previous studies to find and propose the most state-of-the-art models for each classification. Since the Inception-ResNet-V2 architecture achieved the best results for binary and eight classifications, we have examined this model in our study as well to provide a better comparison result. In short, this paper provides an extensive evaluation and discussion about the experimental settings for each study that had been conducted on the breast cancer histopathology images
